Becoming a better person
I was just thinking about something earlier today. What is the difference between becoming a better person and being someone you're not.
For example, you know how some people you look at, and you think man that person is so fake... he is not being himself. What if he was just trying to be a better person. If you're trying to become a better person, of course you are not being yourself, because you're aiming to be someone better. So what makes the difference between the two. Being someone you are not, is very negative while aiming to become a better person is positive. Its like the same thing, but its based on how people view you as.
How do you be the person that looks like he is aiming to become a better person rather than being the person thats fake. I'm just making this up as I go now, I think humbleness is good. Confidence. MOST of it is probably confidence. If I saw someone not very confident doing something it makes them look fake. But a problem occurs when you are being confident about something you are not really good at. When someone knows you are not good at a certain topic, and you pretend to be really good at it then that person will perceive you as fake.
Its like this crazy circle where you have to do this to appear not fake, but if you do this then you are a fake. I read or heard somewhere that the only way to be truly confident is to practice and get better skills at whatever you want to be confident in. I guess in order to become a better person, you have to work on a bunch of skills and practice those skills and then be confident in your skills. Then you won't be a fake.
Or if you don't want to practice you could be a fake and pretend to be confident in everything and trick the world of stupid people but fail to impress the rest of the world.
